Lake Oswego’s Riverfront neighborhood is another community providing water frontage and pristine views. In this case, it’s a view of the Willamette River. Home prices and styles vary, with many condos popping up along the river. The shoreline itself provides many recreational opportunities from neighborhood river walks, state parks, a seaplane port, and plenty of tranquil resting or picnic spots. Also within Riverfront is the historic Willamette Shore Trolley Line. This trolley takes riders on a 6 mile loop through Lake Oswego and Portland. Regular fares are fairly cheap but they also provide special excursions that include fireworks viewing, holiday events, and dinner and wine outings.
Riverfront also contains its own assortment of urban fauna and culture. The big draw is the local theater community. Within the neighborhood is the Lakewood Center for the Arts, a local theater company that hosts many plays, festivals, and art events. Riverfront also keeps its residents entertained with a movie theater, a handful of restaurants, and a video rental store.
