North Portland’s Overlook neighborhood, named for it’s bluff-like stature which overlooks the Willamette River and parts of the NW Industrial area of Portland, is a neighborhood rich in history. It was originally the home to Portland’s first airport which was located on Swan Island and later converted into a shipyard for WWII ships.
Today, the neighborhood is home to many parks and local businesses that line NE Interstate Blvd which has recently become a main thoroughfare into Downtown Portland with the addition of the Max Light Rail.
