One of the oldest municipal courses in Portland, Rose City is also one of my favorites! I particularly like the longer, more challenging back nine with some nice doglegs and patches of tall, fescue-like grass. Rose City has a great summer twilight rate ($21 for unlimited golf after 5 on weekends, probably cheaper on weeknights).

I’ve found that even when this course is packed, the play moves fairly quick. Overall this a fairly basic course without a lot of water or out-of-bounds. But it’s really fun and a great place to take players of all levels. The greens and fairways are always well kept. This is a great “go to” golf course if you don’t feel like driving out of town.
